Bybull Doesn't Close
Why the broker model that gave Nigerians access to global markets aged badly, and what we built instead.
By Blessing Krofegha
You want to buy Nvidia. You also want to buy bitcoin.
That is two apps.
Two sign-ups. Two KYC processes. Two balances that cannot see each other. Whatever is sitting in one is dead weight to the other.
Now picture a Saturday.
News breaks in the Gulf. Oil rips, and gold follows it. You know exactly what you would do. You open your existing app.
The market closed at 9pm on Friday. It opens again at 2:30pm on Monday. You can see exactly which of your positions this hits. You get to watch the whole move happen and do nothing about it, and by the time the session reopens you are buying someone else's exit.
Try taking your money out on that same Saturday. The withdrawal queues. Hours if the weekend is quiet, days if it is not, and the reason is always the same, the rails behind the app went home on Friday too.
Then look at what one trade actually costs. An FX spread on the way in. A commission on the trade. A platform fee. Another spread on the way out. Nobody hands you that total. You see it later from your own statement, long after you have paid it.
That model gave a generation of Nigerians access nobody local was offering, and it was the only structure available at the time. It just aged badly. The world stopped keeping office hours and the structure did not.
So we built the other thing.
What Bybull Is
An agentic on-chain exchange, built on Hyperliquid.
Deposit naira. Buy crypto, US stocks and commodities. Spot or perps. 24/7, and completely non-custodial, so the balance stays yours the whole time.
One app. One balance. No closing bell.
Nothing Closes
The NYSE still shuts at 9pm on Friday, 10pm between November and March when the US clocks shift. That part is not ours to change.
What changes is that the market on Bybull does not shut with it. It is on-chain, so it keeps pricing and keeps trading straight through the weekend. If news breaks on a Saturday morning, the price moves on a Saturday morning, and you can act on a Saturday morning.
Everyone still sitting on the old rails watches that happen and waits for Monday afternoon to do anything about it. You do not.
Take a Nvidia position at 2am. Hedge with gold on a Saturday afternoon.
When news moves an asset on a Sunday, you act on Sunday.
Deposits and withdrawals run on the same clock as the markets. There is no queue that clears when the banks feel like opening, because nobody in the middle is deciding when your turn comes.
The market fits your day instead of New York's.
Spot Or Perps, Your Call
Hold it outright on spot. Crypto, and select US stocks and commodities.
Or trade it as a perp, long or short, with leverage, out of the same balance.
Perps are price exposure, not ownership. No dividend, no vote, just a funding rate depending on which side is crowded, and liquidation risk when you use leverage.
Fees You Can Actually See
No FX spread stacked on a commission stacked on a platform fee stacked on another spread.
You see what a trade costs, to the cent, before you place it. That number is the number.
Your Money Stays Yours
Your balance sits in a wallet tied to you, not pooled in ours.
Deposit and withdraw whenever you want. No windows. No "24 hours processing time".
There is no permission step because there is nobody standing in the middle to grant it.
Agents, Not Buttons
Everything above is about access. This part is about not having to be there.
Even when the market never closes, somebody still has to be awake when the move happens. That was always the quiet cost of trading from Nigeria. The US session opens in the middle of your afternoon and runs into your night, the interesting hours are the ones you spend asleep or at work, and the level you have been waiting on gets hit while your phone is face down on a table.
Watching a chart is not a skill. It is a tax on your time, and it is the reason most people here trade badly. Not because they read the market wrong, but because they were not looking when it mattered.
So we built the app around an agent instead of a button. You do not learn an interface. You say what you want in the same words you would use talking to a friend who trades, and it goes and does that, on its own, until you tell it to stop.
"Analyze Nvidia for me."
It reads the chart and the market around it and tells you what is happening in plain English. What the trend is, what is driving it, where the levels are. No indicators to learn, no chart-reading course.
"Tell me when gold crosses 4500."
You set the level once and close the app. It watches for you and pings you the moment it happens, whether that is 3am on a Sunday or the middle of your workday. You stop having to sit on a chart waiting for a number that may never come.
"Brief me every morning before the US open."
A standing agent that wakes up on your schedule and tells you what moved overnight and what is worth your attention today. It runs whether you open the app or not.
All of that runs today.
Here is what we are shipping next.
"Buy fifty dollars of BTC every Friday."
Averaging in, automatically. Same amount, same day, every week, whether you remember or not. Most people who plan to do this manually stop by the third month. The agent does not.
"Buy Nvidia if it drops to 170."
An instruction that sits there and waits. It does not expire at 9pm and it does not care that it is a weekend. When the price gets there, it fires.
"Sell gold when it crosses 4500."
The same thing on the way out. You decide the level while you are calm, not while you are watching it move.
"Close half my position if it drops five percent."
Protection you set once, that works while you are asleep or stuck in traffic.
Every one of these asks you to approve it before money moves. That screen is the difference between an assistant that saves you money and one that costs you money, so we are not skipping it.
The Close
Any market you want, at any hour you want, spot or perps. Naira in from your bank account, naira back out to it whenever you say so. Watched by an agent that does not sleep and does not need you at your desk.
The truth is, you were never late. You were just never let in at the right time.
That part is over.
